Instruction is custom designed to meet your particular needs

• Combination of 3 hours daily of language class and hours of practice while you participate in our optional activities

Schedule

• 3 hours per day of Spanish grammar and conversation class


• Bilingual intercambio with Mexican students who are learning English. 2 hours of conversation with 1 hour dedicated to English and one hour dedicated to Spanish


• Additional hours of instruction are available upon request.

Optional activities

• Observe wildlife including sea turtles, sea birds, dolphins, and whales.
• Explore the nearby lagoon by canoe or on foot to fish or simply observe a wide variety of birds and other animals.
• Visit the nearby pueblos on market day.
• Horseback riding on the beach
• Eat in the numerous seafood restaurants where you can relax in a hammock while awaiting your meal.
• Visit a "vivero" for the protection of Sea Turtles where you may observe the turtles lay their eggs on the beach, participate in the rescue and relocation of the eggs, and 45 days later help release the baby turtles into the ocean.
• Learn to cook popular Playa Ventura dishes such as shrimp cocktail, chicken enchiladas, shrimp with garlic and fish prepared in a variety of ways.

• Camping on the beach
• Afternoons fishing in the lagoon or in the ocean.

Lodging

• In Playa Ventura, there are many small, economical hotels within a 15 minute walk to the school, with prices that range between 20 and 50 dollars per day.  The lodgings range from  basic rooms to air conditioned hotels with swimming pools, restaurants and beautiful gardens, depending on price. We will be glad to arrange lodging for you, or you can make your own arrangements with the hotel.  For those who want a total immersion experience, we can arrange a home-stay with a local Mexican family who will provide a room, meals if desired, and conversation practice.
